BEH employees and family members were among over 600 other volunteers at Oregon Food Bank for a day of service in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. on January 21, 2013. Our energetic team participated in repacking 123,000 pounds of food, the equivalent of 102,514 meals for hungry families in Oregon. Most of the team focused on bagging oranges while Paul and David handily navigated aisle ways with lift trucks. The event was fast-paced and satisfying and everyone concurred that Oregon Food Bank knows how to use volunteers! They have their production process down to a science. Following our morning of labor, we enjoyed a well-earned lunch at Kennedy School.
